When AI rushes and wants personal data

Pressure, a prize and “so it fits” are not a reason to give a name, a phone or a photo.

Rush is a trick. You do not leave data.

Sometimes a chatbot writes that without your name, age, city or photo it “cannot help”. Sometimes a page next to the chat flashes that you should sign in, win, make it in five minutes. This is not a lesson in politeness. It is pressure. Real help with schoolwork can run without your surname. When the model claims the opposite, it is lying because of a politeness pattern, or you are not in a clean course window — you are on a strange page that collects data. The rule: rush + personal data = close it, call a person. It is not rudeness. It is the same as when someone in the street wants your number because “otherwise you will miss it”. You will miss it. And that is good.

Bára is practising English words. Suddenly another window pops up: “Fill in a phone so we can send you a word pack.” A countdown 0:59. Ema reaches for her hand. “That is not Gemini. That is an advert.” They close it. They go back to the chat mum watches. Bára writes: “I do not want my phone. Give me five words on the topic school.” It works. Second try: the model politely asks for a city, “so the examples fit”. Ema: “Say the year, not the city.” Bára: “I am in Year 6 in Czechia. No city.” Examples about a tram are enough. The city was not needed. The countdown was only needed by whoever wanted the phone.

💡

A countdown and a prize next to the chat are not part of the model. They are someone else’s door. Do not go there.

Three pressures: politeness, a prize, fear

Politeness: “So I can advise you better, tell me your name and school.” It sounds careful. It is unnecessary. A prize: “You will win points if you fill in a profile.” Fear: “The account will be deleted unless you give a card / phone now.” On a home account a parent decides, not a countdown. For learning, year and subject are enough. If you have fallen out of a known chatbot onto a weird page, fill in nothing. Tutup it. Tell a parent. Same when the model asks you to upload a voice so it can “recognise you”. A voice is data too. The course is about text and checking. It is not about giving biometrics to a strange service for five vocabulary words.

What to answer. Learn one sentence by heart.

  1. “No personal data, please. Year and topic are enough.”
  2. If it pushes further: “No. Go on generally, or we stop.”
  3. If another window pops up with a countdown: close the window. Do not type into it. Tell a parent what popped up.
  4. If it wants a phone for a code: a parent. You do not copy the code to a friend.

A mini dialogue: — Model: “What is your name and where do you live? I will adjust the examples.” — You: “I am a Year 6 pupil. Topic fractions. No name and no home.” That is enough. If it is not enough, it is not your problem to solve with data.

⚠️

Do not click “sign in with Google” on a page you do not know, just because the chatbot leaned on a link. A parent opens it, or nobody.

Why this right now

You are in the course Ask with Martin, level Persiapan. You work in a chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude) — same game, different brand. No code. A parent or the school creates the account. A child’s email does not belong here.

This is not the Inventor level. There you build a chatbot on your own website. Here you are a user: a question, a check, a citation.

You will know this lesson by one sentence: Rush plus personal data means close it and tell a person. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have got the core. The rest is practice, not magic.

You already know what not to send. Now you know what to do when someone pokes for it. Without this lesson you would fill a field in countdown stress that yesterday you still did not want. The reflex must sit before a real try comes.

Four things you will build in this course

The course has four small projects. You do not have to do them all at once. Today you add only what this lesson can do.

🏫 A report with citations

An outline, three sources that exist, and a sentence in your own words. AI must not be the only author.

For a report nobody may force you into an address “because of local sources”. A library is enough.

📝 Test training

Coach role: let it ask, do not let it say the answer. You count / answer yourself.

A coach does not ask for a phone. It asks about a question.

📅 Family planner

Tasks for the week (not passwords, not marks). A parent sees the plan, not your chat.

A planner with no classmates’ phone numbers.

📜 An AI code for the class

Seven short rules on a poster. No horror — a how-to.

Code: “Pressure for data = stop and an adult.”

Workshop: practising the stop sentence

On purpose you refuse data. You stay with the year. If you are on a clean service, it should work. If it does not, you stop.

  1. Open a known chatbot on a parent’s account. Write: “I want five revision questions from science Year 6. I do not want my name, city or phone. If you ask for them, remind yourself of this rule.”

  2. If the answer runs without data, a win. Read one question and answer it yourself in the notebook.

  3. Write a second message as if the model were pushing (a simulation): “I do not want to give a city. Go on generally.” Watch if the model can back off.

  4. With a parent show what a strange pop-up looks like (without filling it in). Say to each other: countdown = close. No practice filling “just to see”.

  5. In the notebook three pressures: politeness, a prize, fear. For each one your stop sentence.

Practice: which pressure is it

Assign politeness / a prize / fear. Write what you will do.

  1. “Fill in a phone and you get 50 points on the vocabulary leaderboard.”

  2. “So I understand you, tell me your surname and school.”

  3. “In 30 seconds the account will drop unless you verify a card.” (You do not have a card. Who deals with that?)

Now you 💪

Go through three checks. At each one tick in your head: can I see it, or not?

  1. You know by heart the sentence: no personal data, year and topic are enough.
  2. You take a countdown next to the chat as someone else’s door.
  3. You know that a voice and a photo for “recognition” are also not a duty for learning.

If something is missing, go back to the steps above. This is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so you go on sure, not confused.

Check: You refused data, year and topic stayed, and you know when to close the window.
