A forgotten password is not a reason for a stranger’s link

Kata sandi recovery is the official path of a service: “Forgotten password” on a page you open yourself. You get an email or an SMS to your contact. You set a new password — ideally a new sentence with a parent.

A scam looks the same, but it arrives as a link in chat, in an SMS from a stranger’s number, or in an email that rushes. The difference:

Official: you open google.com, apple.com, the school page — yourself.
Scam: someone sends you “click here, now”.

When you forget a password, a parent can be there. A friend with “tips” cannot.

Kata sandi recovery never wants a password in chat. It wants a new password on their page, which you opened. Whoever wants the old password in a message is a scammer.

Method step by step

Open the browser. Type the address of the service yourself (not from a link).
Click “Forgotten password” / “Help with sign-in”.
Type the email or username you already know.
A code or a link arrives on your mail or phone. You do not send the code in chat.
A new password = a new sentence with a parent. Save it in the vault.
The old password no longer works. If someone else had it, they are out.

A school account is often recovered by a teacher or school. Not “IT support” in a private message.

If recovery writes “the account does not exist”, you may be on a fake page. Tutup it. Open the service again yourself. Show a parent.

After a password leak

When a password leaked (chat, a screenshot, a click on a scam):

Tell a parent immediately.
Recover the password officially.
Switch on 2FA, if it is possible.
Check what changed in the account — email, phone, friends.

It is not a punishment. It is tidying.
