A profile can lie about who they are
A fake profile looks like a friend, a celebrity, a “game moderator”, a teacher — but it is not them. A new account. A weird nickname. Few photos. Lots of promises. They want a private chat, gifts, photos, a password.
Signs:
- a new account — “Hi, I am Martin, but I had to make a new one”
- rush into a private chat
- wants a secret — “do not tell your parents”
- offers that are too good — free stuff, VIP, a prize
- bad Czech or weird photos (for an older friend)
The rule: check outside chat. Call the friend on the old contact. Ask a teacher at school. Ask a parent.
A real friend will not be angry that you call. A fake profile will push: “Why don’t you trust me?” Trust the method, not the pressure.
What a fake profile wants
- a password, a code
- money, a gift card
- a photo, a video
- you to click a link
- you to add a stranger into the class group
You do none of that. Block, screenshot, a parent or a teacher.
Checking — three steps
- Stop — I do not answer immediately, I do not click.
- Check outside — I call / write on the old channel you know.
- Report — a button in the app + an adult.
If a friend says “that is not me”, their account may be taken over. They go to a parent too.
What to say
A fake “friend”:
“I am checking with you elsewhere. I will call first.”
They push into a private chat:
“No private chat with a stranger’s profile. I am going to a parent.”
How it fits the projects
👤 Safer profile. Your profile — minimum details. You do not judge a stranger’s profile by a photo.
🏫 Campaign. A friend’s new account? Check outside chat.
Hunter finale — you will sum up scam signs.
Now you 💪
With a parent, go through your profile: what does a stranger see? With a friend, agree a sentence: “If I write from a new account, I will tell you at school.”
-
Your profile — what is public? Change one thing if there is too much.
-
A sentence for checking: “I will call the old number.”
-
Into the campaign: Check outside chat.
Check: A fake profile = check outside. A secret = stop. Screenshot + an adult.
What to take from this lesson
- A friend’s “new account” = check.
- No private chat with a strange adult.
- Pushing = fake, not an angry friend.
- Block, report, tell an adult.
