← Level 1 – Cashier

11 / 12 ⏱ 16 minutes

A talk with a parent (no numbers on the network)

Three sentences from the notebook. No haul. No Discord. No parent’s wage.

Three sentences at the table, not on the network

A talk is part of Cashier. Not an interrogation. Three sentences: what came, what left, what I want differently next time. A parent may hear numbers. Stories, a group chat, a comment under a reel may not.

If you are afraid of numbers, say the rhythm and one regret with no amount. Honesty with no ranking. That is enough. The course does not order that a parent see every juice. It orders that you know and can talk about it with no shame and no flex.

Ondra films a video “my pocket-money week”. Hearts. Nela sits at the table: “100 came. 70 left, of that two juices on Friday. Next time I want 20 into later.” Mum nods. No viral. More course.

Ondra gets a comment “you’re poor” and “you’re rich”. Both are a ranking. Nela gets a question: “Do you want help with an envelope?” That is a talk.

💡

Place: the table. Time: not in anger after a purchase. Paper: the notebook closed, if sentences are enough. Open, if a parent wants to see the run — not to photo it.

개인정보 is part of the balance

Pocket-money numbers are a family map. On the network they become content. Content pulls mockery, envy and sometimes a scam (“send me, I’m saving too”). That is why a child’s email does not belong here and that is why the notebook is not photographed.

A talk is not a request for a raise. If you want to ask, split the sentence: first truth, then a request. In one sentence “too little came, I would like more, because Jakub” is a ranking. Split it.

If a parent does not want to hear amounts, respect that. Say a regret and an envelope plan. The course is for you. A parent is not a required viewer of your Excel. A table may stay closed.

If the talk is nasty (mockery, a punishment for truth, pressure for rent), look for another adult. Truth in the notebook is not an excuse to put anyone down. Nor to stop writing.

Nela wants to shorten it to “it will be fine somehow”. Ondra asks what the lesson A talk with a parent (no numbers on the network) is for, when a table can do a sum. A sum does not count respect, a PIN, a trap or an envelope. The core is: Three sentences at the table. Pocket-money numbers are not content.

Adults pay the rent. The card, the account and the PIN belong to a parent. A child’s email does not belong here. Pocket-money numbers do not belong on the network. If you break these rules in the lesson “A talk with a parent (no numbers on the network)”, you know a word, not the course.

Nela: three sentences. Mum: “Friday we take 40 for want.” An agreement. Ondra: a screenshot into class. A teacher deletes it. Ondra is angry that he “shared learning”. He shared a map. A map is not a report.

A practice sentence with no number: “On Friday my calm vanishes. I want an envelope.” It counts.

Practice numbers, not a bank statement. Nela has 80 Kč in the want envelope. Ondra pushes a step this lesson can name. When Nela uses the core, either it waits for a parent, or it fits the envelope. If not, anger and a hole are left — proof of pressure, not that the lesson is pointless.

⚠️

Do not record a parent in secret. Do not put the notebook on a shared class drive. Do not send a balance to a person from chat who will “advise an investment”.

Why this right now

You are in the course Money with Martin, level Cashier. You can write numbers in a notebook or a table, but the topic is money and decisions, not Excel formulas. The account, the card and the PIN belong to a parent. A child’s email does not belong here. Do not put pocket-money numbers on the network.

This is not the Sheets with Martin course. A table may help, but the mark of success is a decision, not SUM.

You will know this lesson by one sentence: Three sentences at the table. Pocket-money numbers are not content. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have the core. The rest is practice, not magic.

The finale wants you to be able to talk. A 14-day project with no talk can stay secret from shame. Shame spoils the run. The table holds the run.

If you skip this, the next lesson in level Cashier will stand on fog. A slip with three sentences was said at the table, not on the network. It is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so “A talk with a parent (no numbers on the network)” is not only a heading.

Four things you will build from the course

The course has four small projects. You do not have to do them all at once. Today you add only what this lesson can do.

🪙 Pocket money

A 14-day record: income, spending, balance. What you do not write down is as if you did not spend it — and that is a lie.

14 days: at the end three sentences, not a chart on Instagram.

🚌 Class trip

A budget, a reserve, a plan B. A shared till has rules.

A trip: with a parent about your contribution, not about other people’s amounts.

🎮 Game shop

V-bucks and a loot box are a purchase. A subscription keeps going.

A game: a purchase is sorted at the table, not in a shop comment.

🧾 Stall / mini-company

Cost, price, profit. Three numbers for the class.

A stall: a report for the class will have three numbers later — other rules, still with no flex.

Workshop: three sentences on a slip

Write them. Say them. Do not stick them on a locker at school.

  1. Sentence 1 income (a source, not a parent’s wage). Sentence 2 spending or a regret. Sentence 3 an envelope plan.

  2. Cross out everything that sounds like a ranking or a flex.

  3. Tell a parent. If there is no time, agree a minute. Do not leave it on Discord “for now”.

  4. Tear the slip or hide it in the notebook. Do not photo it.

You count when sentences can exist with no camera. If a haul tempts you, go back to the lesson that this is not a game about riches.

Pocket money: 14 days: at the end three sentences, not a chart on Instagram. Do not write someone else’s amount, a PIN, an IBAN or “how much a classmate gets” next to it. A rule and a practice number are enough — or an honest zero.

Practice: the table, or the network?

Where does it belong?

  1. Three sentences at dinner. Why yes?

  2. Stories with a balance. Why not?

  3. A request for a raise in the same sentence as “Jakub gets more”. What to split?

  4. A parent does not want numbers. What backup truth counts?

Now you 💪

Go through three checks. By each one, tick in your head: do I see it, or not?

  1. I can do three sentences with no flex.
  2. I know the notebook is not content.
  3. I split a request from a ranking.

If something is missing, go back to the steps above. It is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so you go on with certainty, not with a mess.

Check: A slip with three sentences was said at the table, not on the network.
