← Level 6 – Adviser

Help at home

Teach a sibling a lock and a parent “reject cookies”.

You can do it. Show one thing.

Adviser is not a lecture for a hall. It is not that you will be a teacher for the evening. It is one thing you actually show someone. Ten minutes. One phone. Done.

When you show twenty things at once, nothing stays. When you show a lock that is not 0000, a lock stays. That is more than an essay about the internet.

Pick according to who is at home:

You sit at one phone. They click. You watch. If you click, they can listen. If they click, they can do it tomorrow.

No sermon. No “everyone will fleece you”. Calm. One thing. Praise that they clicked. Even if it was slow. Slow is fine.

💡

If they say “we know that”, let them do it and you watch. Being able to click is more than hearing a lecture. If they do not want to click, do not force it. Offer another one thing. Or tomorrow. Adviser is not a police officer.

How to lead that minute

It is not a test. It is a shared path in Settings. Short sentences. A finger on a button, not on blame.

  1. Say what you will do. One sentence. Not “we will fix the internet for you”.

  2. Ask if they can now. If they are cooking, wait. Ten minutes in calm > two minutes in a fight.

  3. They hold the phone. You say where to tap. If you get lost, back. Do not delete anything “just in case”.

  4. At the end say out loud what holds next time. One sentence. You can put that into family rules.

If you break something (you switch off a permission a map wants), switch it back on. Nothing gets angry for good. You already know that from Shadow. Tell them that too. Fear of Settings is worse than a wrong click.

Ten minutes is enough. If it starts being a lecture, stop. Say: today only this. Tomorrow another, if you want. An adviser who talks half an hour sounds like a staff room. An adviser who shows one button sounds like a person.

What to say — sentences you can read

To a sibling at the lock:

“Give me ten minutes. I do not want to take games from you. I want you to have a lock that is not a date. You click. I watch. You invent the PIN and tell it to mum, not to me in chat.”

To a parent at cookies:

“That big Accept all button pops up. We want the small one — Necessary only. I will show it on one website. You click. The page stays. It is not rude.”

To grandma at a code:

“When an SMS with numbers arrives and at the same time someone calls that they are from a bank, hang up. Do not read the code. Call us. A real bank does not want that. I can sit with you when we try it as practice — without calling, only the sentence.”

To a parent who photographs you:

“Does the board rule hold for me on your profile too? I want you to ask before you put me out. I ask with a sibling too.”

To yourself, when you do not feel like it:

“One person. One thing. Then I tick it. I do not have to save the whole house.”

Practice means you say it even if nobody is calling right now. The mouth remembers the path. When there is a rush, the sentence is already there.

⚠️

Do not touch a sibling’s school account “for their good” without a parent. Do not play password manager for the whole family. Do not read passwords. Do not read 2FA codes. You show doors in Settings. You do not copy keys. If you want to help with 2FA, you call a parent, not “I will switch it on in secret”.

Where it belongs from the course

You can pick a thing you already can:

One. Write on paper: who — what — when. Once you show it, tick it. That is Adviser’s homework. It belongs to family rules: the sentence you say at the end can hang on the fridge.

If nobody is at home, show it to a classmate at school — with permission, on their phone, one thing. Or write grandma that sentence about a code. A written sentence holds too.

After the show, write into family rules that one sentence you said at the end. We do not read a code. A lock is not a date. We refuse cookies. The fridge remembers better than a promise in the kitchen. Tomorrow it is still there. An evening promise vanishes with the dishes.

What not to do

Do not scare. “They will steal from all of you” closes ears. “Click here, the small button” opens a hand.

Do not test them. “So what is 2FA?” like a written test. They are not pupils. They are family.

Do not send ten links into family chat. One evening. One table. One click.

Do not take over their phone without asking “I will set it and you go away”. Then you can. They cannot. Adviser leaves the skill with them. Even if it is slower. A slow click they do themselves is the whole point.

Now you 💪

Write into 备注s in your head (or on paper): who and what. Once you show it, tick it.

Practise the sentence out loud, even alone in a room. Then say it to that person. If they say no, write I will try on Saturday. The task lives until it is ticked. It does not live as guilt.

Check: One specific person, one specific thing. Not “I will explain the internet”. They click, you watch. No scare stories.
