Print / PDF for school

A PDF is a bridge when school will not open Slides. It is not a second live truth.

You edit the original. You hand in a PDF. Two live versions are a shadow.

Eight slides hold. Today you make a bridge to school from them. 学校 sometimes wants a PDF or paper. File → Download → PDF document. A PDF is a photo of slides, not a place where you keep editing.

Imagine the teacher will not open Slides. You send PPTX and she will not open it. Deadline gone. Or paper from print cuts titles. The main sentence gone. Export a day ahead, open, check, hand in the original and a PDF according to the task.

Rule: one truth, one export in time. Open the PDF and check that type and contrast survived. Grey on grey in a PDF dies too. Margins: the sentence must not be cut. Delete an old PDF so you do not hand in a shadow.

Do not share a PDF publicly with home photos. A school channel. Restricted. The same door as with a link. A parent or the school holds the account. In the file name subject, topic, name. Not a child’s email.

Klára sent PPTX the teacher could not open, and paper from print cut the titles. The sentence gone. The deadline gone. Marek exported a PDF a day ahead, opened it, checked from the back on the monitor, handed in the original and a PDF according to the task. One truth. A bridge. 学校 got what it can open. In the evening Klára exported again and deleted the old cut file. Dad held the account. She said the PDF looked 完成 without opening it. An unopened PDF is a trap. Today you open it. She deleted the old cut file so she does not hand in a shadow. The original lived on. The PDF was a bridge.

After exporting a PDF open it at once. Scroll like a class. Titles whole? Contrast? Cut margins? Go back to the original, fix, export again.

The original lives. A PDF is a photo to hand in

In Slides: File → Download → PDF document. Save next to the original, the same name plus the pdf extension. Do not write into the PDF as into a new truth.

Open the PDF. You do not have Present (F5) in a PDF, but scroll. Titles whole? Contrast? Bullets readable? Cut margins? Go back to the original, fix, export again. Delete the old PDF.

Print only when the teacher wants paper: File → Print. More slides per page only if it can be read. Better one slide per page for a report. Hand-in: where the teacher said. Not a public drive. Not a child’s email in the file name.

A PDF is not a feed. It is not a second live truth. It is a bridge. If the teacher wants paper, one slide per page. Four thumbnails on a sheet will not hide 5×7. Readability from 准备课 holds on paper too. A name with no child’s email.

Wrong: send a Slides link school will not open, and not attach a PDF. Or hand in a PDF from last week because “it was already there”. A shadow. An old sentence.

Right: Marek. Export yesterday. He opened. A cut title. He fixed the original. Export again. He deleted the old. Today he handed in. Klára after the fix the same.

Five slides about something you like doing. One sentence about what it is. No paragraphs from your notebook.

Hobby: a PDF only when someone wants to see it without Slides. Otherwise a live file.

📚 A report

Eight slides for school: a start, three proofs, an end. The title on every slide is a sentence, not “Slide 3”.

Report: school often wants a PDF. A bridge. The original still lives with you.

📊 Survey results

A chart from a table (not a screenshot from chat) and under it where the numbers come from.

Survey: check a chart in a PDF that the axes survived. A grey axis dies.

⚖️ A defence

You say one sentence, show proof, answer “and what if…”. If you do not know, you say I don’t know.

Defence: a panel sometimes reads paper. One slide per page, so it can be read.

Export a PDF and open it at once

You save the original. You download a PDF. You open. You fix the original if it cut a sentence. You delete an old PDF.

  1. Save the original. In Slides File → Download → PDF document. Save next to the original, the same name plus .pdf. Do not write into the PDF as into a new truth. A parent’s or the school’s account.

  2. Open the PDF. Scroll. Titles whole? Contrast? Bullets readable? Cut margins? Go back to the original, fix, export again. Delete the old PDF so you do not hand in a shadow.

  3. In PowerPoint almost the same: File → Export → Create PDF, or Print → PDF printer. The same check by opening. Grey on grey dies here too.

  4. Print only when the teacher wants paper: File → Print, one slide per page for a report. More per page only if it can be read from the back on paper. Hand-in: where the teacher said. Not a public drive.

  5. The workshop ends with the original and one fresh PDF. No final2-pdf. No email in the name. Drive. One truth. A bridge.

Do not hand in a shadow

An old PDF and a cut title are a shadow. Open, fix, delete the old.

  1. Open the PDF you just downloaded. Is the title on slide 1 whole?

  2. If it is cut, fix the original and export again. Delete the old.

  3. Check the file name: subject, topic, name. Not an email.

  2. I opened and checked the PDF, not only downloaded it.
  3. I edit the original. A PDF is a bridge, not a second truth.
