Where a number differs, work starts
Two answers side by side look like certainty when they sound similar. They are not. They can share the same hallucination. The work is to find a clash: another year, another name, another meaning. A clash is a gift. It shows that at least one branch is lying, or that the question was foggy. Then a book. Agreement is not proof. Agreement is “both cooks salted the same way”, maybe wrongly. Little bird compares in one brand two wordings, or with a parent two brands — but the referee is still outside. Detective later expands this lesson to two chatbots on purpose. Today two versions and a pencil for clashes are enough.
Adam has two analogies for the water cycle. Both sound nice. Ema circles: one says clouds are only smoke from chimneys. The other talks about evaporation. A clash. Textbook: evaporation. The first analogy falls, even if it was funnier. Adam wanted to vote which he likes. Ema: “This is not Eurovision. This is a fact.” Like can stay in column A. Into a test goes the book. Comparing saved a mark. Not because they had two AIs. Because someone looked for a clash.
Underline only what differs and can be checked. Tone, a joke and length do not count now. A year and a meaning do.
A clash, agreement, taste
A clash in the checkable = go to a referee. Agreement in the checkable = still check, at least once. Taste (a funnier analogy) = column A, not a test. People compare taste and think they are doing science. Little bird splits. Technique: two answers on paper, two colours. Red a clash. Blue agreement. Green taste. Red first into a book. When you compare two brands, the same prompt. Otherwise you compare orders, not tools. You already know that from Prep.
The same prompt twice (second move: “now another analogy, the same rules”).
Version 1: an analogy with a kettle, no year. Version 2: an analogy with a chimney + the sentence “already in the year 1901…”
Red: the year 1901 and a chimney as the only source of clouds. Book: evaporation, a chimney is not enough, cross out the year. Blue: both mention heat. Check that heat is in the chapter. Green: which analogy sits in your head when it does not contradict.
A table:
| Colour | What to do with it |
|---|---|
| red | a book at once |
| blue | check once |
| green | may stay as A |
Do not let the class vote which analogy is true. Truth is not a like. Truth is a textbook page.
Why this right now
You are in the course Ask with Martin, level Little bird. You work in a chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude) — same game, different brand. No code. A parent or the school creates the account. A child’s email does not belong here.
This is not the Inventor level. There you build a chatbot on your own website. Here you are a user: a question, a check, a citation.
You will know this lesson by one sentence: Look for a clash in data. Agreement or a joke are not proof. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have got the core. The rest is practice, not magic.
Tomorrow test training joins a role, a limit and comparing your answers with a book — not two AIs with each other. Today a pencil for clashes. So you can read two versions without Eurovision.
Four things you will build in this course
The course has four small projects. You do not have to do them all at once. Today you add only what this lesson can do.
🏫 A report with citations
An outline, three sources that exist, and a sentence in your own words. AI must not be the only author.
Two outline drafts: a clash in points with dates, not which sounds cleverer.
📝 Test training
Coach role: let it ask, do not let it say the answer. You count / answer yourself.
Two quizzes: different questions ok, different keys to the same = a book.
📅 Family planner
Tasks for the week (not passwords, not marks). A parent sees the plan, not your chat.
Two planners: a clash in a date = the school portal.
📜 An AI code for the class
Seven short rules on a poster. No horror — a how-to.
Code: “We do not vote on facts.”
Workshop: two versions, three colours
One prompt. A second move for another analogy or another format. Three colours on paper. A book for red.
-
M1 an analogy or a table about the work. Copy the hooks.
-
M2: “another version, the same rules, no intro.” Copy the hooks.
-
Red / blue / green. Open red in a book first.
-
Cross out the version that contradicts. Leave taste next to it.
-
In the notebook a sentence: agreement is not proof. Close both versions. Say the book core out loud.
Practice: colour
For each pair write red, blue, or green.
-
The year 1620 vs. 1621 for the same battle.
-
Both say the Vltava flows into the Elbe.
-
One analogy with pizza, the other with cake, the same fractions.
Now you 💪
Go through three checks. At each one tick in your head: can I see it, or not?
- You compare data, not a joke.
- The same prompt when it is about two brands.
- You check agreement at least once too.
If something is missing, go back to the steps above. This is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so you go on sure, not confused.
Check: You have two versions coloured and a book decided the red clash.
What to take from this lesson
- A clash is a gift. Agreement is not proof.
- Three colours: a clash, agreement, taste.
- Taste does not belong in a test.
- The same prompt when comparing tools.
- A class vote will not fix a fact.
- The names in the examples (Adam, Ema) are made up. Do not put your number, email or photo here.
- Next lesson: When you can do this, go to the next lesson in the same level.
