A checklist at home

Go through the phone and accounts with a parent — calmly.

An audit is not a hunt for “bad apps”

A checklist at home is the first 📱 Phone audit. It is not about what to delete blind. It is about knowing what is on: lock, apps, permissions, accounts. You do it with a parent. Calmly. Without blame.

An audit is not a punishment for having a phone. It is a map. Like when you check a backpack before a trip — not because you stole something, but so you know what is in it.

The list has ten points. For each one, yes / no / I do not know is enough. “I do not know” is fine. “I do not know” means ask a parent or a teacher.

💡

You do not have to change anything today. The first audit = paper with yes/no. Changes will come in later lessons (a vault, two-factor, a profile). Today you only see where you are.

Ten points on the list

Go through with a parent and tick:

  1. Phone lock — the PIN is not a date, it is not 0000.
  2. Automatic unlocking — “always unlock at home” is not on, unless you want that on purpose.
  3. Apps from an unknown source — only a store a parent knows (App Store, Google Play).
  4. Location — which apps see it? (maps, photos, games — only a list)
  5. Photos and gallery — does it back up to the cloud? Do you know where?
  6. Accounts in the browser — are you signed in on someone else’s tablet?
  7. Passwords in notes — is there a note called “passwords”? (Later a vault.)
  8. Notifications on the lock screen — can a stranger see a preview of messages?
  9. Unknown profiles / chats — a stranger lately?
  10. 116 111 and a parent — both contacts saved?

Paper into a drawer. Not a photo into a group.

What if there are lots of “no”

No reason to shout. A reason for one step this week. Maybe just the lock. Maybe just delete a note with a password and move it to a vault later. An audit is not a marathon.

What to say to a parent

“I am doing a checklist from the course. It is not that I broke something. I want to know what is on.”

A parent can say:

“Thanks for doing this together. We will change one thing this week.”

How it fits the projects

📱 Phone audit — this list is the core of the project. In a month you open it again.

🏠 Family rules. If something on the list does not fit, add one sentence to the rules — not ten at once.

👤 Safer profile. Point 9: stranger chats = show a parent, do not deal with it on your own.

Now you 💪

Go through the list with a parent. Tick yes/no/I do not know. Pick one thing for this week.

  1. Open phone settings. You go through points 1–5. You write on paper.

  2. Points 6–10 — even the next day. An audit can be two short meetings.

  3. One change this week: the lock, notifications, or deleting a weird chat — with a parent.

Check: You have a paper with ten points. You know one thing to improve. An audit = a map, not a punishment.
