Trusted is not whoever promises the most

A trusted adult is a person you know in real life and who is there to help, not keep a secret. A parent. A teacher. An after-school club leader. A coach. Grandma, when a parent is not at home and knows you are doing a safety course.

Not trusted:

a stranger’s account in chat that says “I am a friend of Martin’s”
someone who wants a private chat “just between us”
someone who says “do not tell your parents”
someone who promises gifts, prizes, secret codes

The rule is simple: when something pushes you into a secret from family or a teacher, it is not trust — it is a trap.

A trusted adult does not want to scare you. They do not want a password in chat. They will not say “you are stupid for clicking”. They will say: “Thanks for telling me. Let’s close this.”

How to tell the difference

Trusted	Weird

They talk about it in front of a parent, normally	They want a secret

They will wait until you ask a parent	They rush: “right now”

If you are not sure, always a parent or a teacher. A “awkward question” is better than a quiet chat with a stranger.

A list of three people

On paper (not in chat) write three names with a parent:

First — who is at home most often (mum, dad, carer).
Backup — a teacher, grandma, a coach — when the first is not available.
학교 — a specific teacher or form tutor — when the problem is in the class chat.

You do not save numbers from strangers. Line 116 111 is an exception — you will save that in the next lesson.

What to say

To a parent:

“I do not know if that person in chat is really a friend. Can you look at it with me?”

To a teacher:

“Someone from school / in the class chat wants something that does not sit right. I will show a screenshot.”

To a friend who says “don’t snitch”:

“I am not snitching. I want an adult to help me. You can too.”

How it fits the projects

🏠 Family rules. Sentence: I may come to a parent, even if it is awkward. A secret from family = stop.

🏫 Campaign for the class. Poster: A weird message? First a parent or a teacher. Not a stranger’s profile.
