Project: a report outline

Five points you can defend

The Curious project is not a handed-in report from a model. It is a five-point outline that stands on your questions and notes. Each point is short. By each you know where you know it from. A chatbot may suggest an order. It must not add paragraphs. When it offers a point with a date you do not have in a book, the point falls. When it offers an intro “since forever humankind…”, you cross out water. An outline is a promise to a teacher: I will talk about this and I can show it. It is not a promise that someone will write it for you. Today you join lessons 9 and 10. Tomorrow the Curious finale checks whether you can do the whole chain from a verb to an outline.

Adam has five points from chat: water, water, an invented quote, water, a conclusion about the planet. Bára takes his three notes from the notebook and builds: (1) where the river flows, (2) cities from an atlas, (3) a dam from the chapter, (4) an analogy with a hose — marked, (5) a question she will still ask the class. Adam sees the difference. The first outline would fall on the quote. The second will survive a teacher. They use chat only: “Put these five of my points in a logical order. Do not draw extra points.” The model sorts. Adam agrees or swaps. Still his points. Bára writes the outline on clean paper. That is a project. Not a file with five paragraphs.

An outline is a contract. A paragraph is later and yours.

A contract says what the talk will be about. When a model writes the contract including the content, it is no longer a contract — it is the work. That is why you ban adding. It may suggest an order, because order is a craft you learn to see: from a map to a detail, from a fact to an analogy, from an analogy to a question for the class. A source in brackets today is enough as a textbook and an atlas. Three official citations are Detective. Do not rush. Better five honest points than twelve invented ones. When a topic does not stand on five facts in a book, the topic is too wide. You narrow it. That is a project result too, not a loss.

A sample outline (another river, so you do not copy the topic).

A bad outline:

1. Intro about the beauty of nature
2. A quote from an invented professor 3.–5. paragraphs from chat

A prompt for sorting: “Here are five of my points: … Only sort them. No new points. No paragraphs.”

Why this right now

You are in the course Ask with Martin, level Curious. You work in a chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude) — same game, different brand. No code. A parent or the school creates the account. A child’s email does not belong here.

This is not the 发明家 level. There you build a chatbot on your own website. Here you are a user: a question, a check, a citation.

You will know this lesson by one sentence: An outline has five of your points with a source. A model sorts, it does not add. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have got the core. The rest is practice, not magic.

Without a project Curious would end with exercises. With a project you see what the questions were for. Tomorrow’s finale is a chain check, not another product.

Four things you will build in this course

The course has four small projects. You do not have to do them all at once. Today you add only what this lesson can do.

Workshop: five points from the notebook

You do not look into an empty chat with “make an outline about…”. You look into your notes. Chat only sorts when it has something to sort.

1. Pull out three notes from the notes lesson (or make them today from a book). Add one analogy marked A and one question for the class. That is five materials.

2. On paper write them with no order. By facts a source. By an analogy A. By a question a question mark.

3. Only now chat: sort my five points, add nothing. If it adds, delete the new. Leave only the order.

4. Rewrite a clean outline. Read it out loud to a parent. By each point they may ask “where do you know that from?”. You must show a book or say it is an analogy.

5. Do not photograph the outline into chat with a name. It is not needed. Paper is the project.

Practice: cross out water in an outline

Three fake points. Write why they fall, and replace with a shape that has a source.

1. “Intro: since ancient times water has fascinated people.”

2. “As Prof. Havel wrote in 1994…” with no book.

3. “Conclusion: we must save the planet” with no link to a chapter.

Go through three checks. At each one tick in your head: can I see it, or not?

1. Five points stand on your notes, not on water.
2. Each fact has source brackets or an atlas.
3. The model did not draw extra paragraphs you would hand in.

If something is missing, go back to the steps above. This is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so you go on sure, not confused.
