A prize you know nothing about is not a prize

Sometimes a message promises a phone. Sometimes “just postage”. Sometimes cheap things for a game. Sometimes a friend from a new account who wants to borrow “until tomorrow”. The shape changes. The sign stays: something for little, and it rushes, and you should tell parents only afterwards.

The rule is boring and it holds: if you did not enter a draw, you did not win. If the price is ridiculous, it is not a discount — it is a trap. If it is meant to go around parents, it is not a shop any more.

We will not build an advert that could be copied. Signs again.

A prize-trap sign

It writes about a prize you know nothing about. No ticket, no school contest, no parent’s say-so.
It wants a small fee, a code, a gift card, “just postage”, “just verification”.
It rushes. The prize will supposedly drop in a moment.
It congratulates you on a thing you did not enter for.

Payment only in a way you do not use at home.
The profile is new and boasts lots of “sales”.
They want remote access to the phone “for a repair” or “for delivery”.
They push you to tell parents only afterwards.

Stop. 关闭 it. Tell a parent. You do not have to find out “whether this time it is different”.

Do not send an SMS code / a code from a banking app to anyone. Not to a “game admin”, not to “support”, not to a classmate who is “just verifying the account”. That code is a key. Whoever has it goes on instead of you. It is not sent in chat, it is not read into the phone to a stranger’s voice.

A shop that smells — in plain language

A shop should be boring. A parent knows where you buy. They have a receipt in their head: a known shop, a known game, a known card. When someone offers the same thing for a third of the price in chat, it is not a prize. It is a shortcut meant to go around that boredom.

Remote access (“install this so I can fix it”) is stop especially. A parent and a repair shop you know fix a phone. Not a lobby, not a new profile, not a message with a prize.

A “friend” from a new account who wants to borrow for a kit, a skin, a code, is a sign too. A real friend has an old account, a voice you know, and will wait until tomorrow until you ask at home. A new account + rush + money = no.

What to say

A message: you won, pay postage.

“I did not enter a draw. I do not pay. I will show a parent.”

A lobby: cheap things for a game, type the SMS code.

“I do not send an SMS code. If it is a real shop, it can wait for mum.”

A friend (or a “friend”): lend me, I will give it back tomorrow.

“Loans and purchases in a game only with a parent. Not today.”

A voice on the phone: I am from the bank / from a game, read the code.

You put it down. You tell a parent. A real bank and a real school do not want an SMS code from a child into the handset.

A classmate: we will buy it in secret, parents do not have to know.

“That is exactly why no. If it is meant to be a secret purchase, it is a bad purchase.”

You can shorten these sentences to “no” and a screenshot. A long explanation the trap does not need.

A mini scene at the table

Parent: “And if it was really a good deal?”

You: “Then it can wait until tomorrow. We will open a known shop ourselves. Not from that message.”

Parent: “And if a mate sent it?”

You: “I will ask them another way I know. Or I will tell you. I still do not send a password and a code.”

This is training, not a test. When the message arrives, the mouth has already said the sentence once.

A gift card, a code, “verification”

A scam likes to want a thing that looks like a game, not like money. A gift-card code. An SMS code. “Verify your age.” “发送 a screenshot of the wallet in the game.” For you it is still a key or property. It is not sent. Even if it is “just for a minute” and “I will give it back immediately”.

If someone asks you to read a code out loud into the handset, you put it down. A parent. Real game support has a page you open, and even there children do not deal with purchases on their own.

A new profile that uses a friend’s name and wants to borrow is a disguise sign and a scam at once. Do not investigate whether it is “really them”. Write to the friend another known way, or ask tomorrow at school. Meanwhile a password and a code do not travel.

If an offer is so good you would want to tell the whole class, that is a reason to stop, not to buy. Good deals that hide from parents are not good deals.

Pocket money and a kit for a game belong on the table with a parent. Chat is not a till. If a “shop” rushes, let an adult decide tomorrow. Tomorrow the trap will either vanish, or you will see it together. Both options are better than a code tonight.

How it fits the projects

🏠 Family rules. Two sentences: A prize and a purchase in a game only with a parent. An SMS code is not sent. It holds for siblings too. It holds even if “it is only a hundred”.

👤 Safer profile. The fewer public details (school, city, “send skins here”), the fewer targeted messages about a prize. A profile is a game, not a shop window.

🏫 Campaign. On the poster: You did not enter a draw → you did not win. An SMS code is a key. Without a picture of a fake shop. Without a link “what it looks like”.

If you already sent a code once or promised “just postage”, you are not hopeless. You go to a parent immediately. The sooner, the less work. You do not deal with the police and a bank on your own.

A screenshot before deleting holds here too. A prize-trap likes to delete itself. You keep the picture. A parent sees the signs. You do not have to prove anything from memory.
