Rules you invented yourselves
Rules are not a punishment. It is not someone at the top shouting. It is an agreement, so everyone knows what holds in class chat and on Drive. When the class says it in their own words, it holds more than a decree copied from the internet.
Five short sentences. A teacher’s signature is enough. It does not have to be a stamp. It does not have to be a criminal code. It is enough that you can point with a finger: this is what we promised.
With a teacher you can agree for example:
- We do not lend a school account. We do not read a password and a code from the phone to anyone.
- Strangers without a teacher do not belong in the class group.
- Photos from school only with permission. The board rule.
- We do not send a scam message on “for a laugh” — we go to a teacher.
- When something nasty happens to someone, we do not leave it. Screenshot, an adult, 116 111.
Change the words so the class will actually say them. “We do not lend” is clearer than “we respect identity security policy”. If a year-five pupil does not get it, the sentence is wrong. Not the pupil.
Rules hold in chat at the weekend too. Class chat is not outside school just because it is evening. You already know that from cyberbullying. Here the class says it out loud, so it is not only in your head.
One word the class changes is a win. Then it is theirs. If you bring a finished law and do not let them touch it, it hangs as decoration. Decoration is not kept.
How to put it together
You do not vote on it in the corridor in noise. It is five minutes with a teacher, or a circle at the start of ICT.

Write a draft of five sentences at home. Short. No names. No jokes that get stale in a month.

Show a teacher it as a draft. Say: “We can change one sentence so the class says it.”

Let the class change one word or one point. Write the final version. Big letters. The same five.

Where it belongs: a board, the first page of school Drive, a class rules notebook. A teacher picks. You do not stick it at night.
If the class wants a sixth point about snacks, let snacks live elsewhere. This set of rules is about a phone, chat and Drive. Otherwise it spreads.
After hanging it, read the rules once in a while. At the start of the year. After holidays. When a new classmate arrives. Five sentences take a minute. A minute is cheaper than a month of chaos in chat where someone added a cousin “for a laugh”.
What to say out loud
To a teacher:
“I have a draft of class rules. Five sentences. No punishments. I want the class to change it a bit and you to be able to hang it. It is not for a mark. It is so we know what holds in chat.”
To the class:
“This is not a trap. It is so we know an account is not lent and a photo wants permission. If you want a different word, say so. Then it holds for us, not for me.”
To a classmate who says “nobody will keep it anyway”:
“Then at least let where to go hang, when it happens. A screenshot and a teacher. That is enough as point 5.”
To a parent:
“At school I take a draft of class rules. At home we have family rules. It is not the same. 学校 is class chat. The fridge is our house.”
Adviser helps. Does not play police officer. If someone breaks point 3, you do not go with a megaphone. You go to a teacher, or you remind the sentence calmly between four eyes. Shame in front of the class does not make you a guard. It makes another injury.
Class rules are not a list of how to catch someone. They are not a how-to for going around 2FA, a school filter, or “how to find out who wrote from an anonymous account”. When something happens, you go to an adult. 学校 investigates. Not the class on their own.
🏫 Campaign + class rules
The poster hangs. Class rules are on the board or on the first page of school Drive. The phone audit you have 完成. Family rules are on the fridge. The safer profile is private. Those are the course projects.
Four things next to each other:
- Family rules — the fridge. The board, Wi-Fi, do not read a code, a backup.
- Phone audit — paper with a parent. Permissions, 2FA, a backup, location, cookies.
- Campaign — a poster. Five points and 116 111.
- Safer profile — a bio without school, a private account, a nick without a year.
If one is missing, it is not a fail. It is a task for next week. Adviser does not let it vanish from shame. Does not let it hang as a threat either.
What to take from the whole course, not only from class rules
You can say no when something rushes and wants a key. You can not send a photo that would not hang by the headteacher. You can save proof and go to an adult. You can switch on a second gate and not read a code into the handset. You can show one thing at home. You can put five points on paper.
Coding and spreadsheets are next door. This course is about calm on the phone. Calm is not that nothing will happen. Calm is that you know what to do when something happens.
Line 116 111 holds after the course too. In the holidays too. Even if “it is not that bad”. It is enough that it is hard.

Write a draft of five sentences. Show a teacher it as a draft, not as a finished law. Let the class change one word — then it is theirs.
Check four projects. What is missing, write on paper with a date. One hole. Not ten. Adviser ends with an action, not a feeling that you should have preached more.
Done. You have a glossary, passwords, hunting, privacy, broadcasting, a guard and class rules. That is Adviser. Four projects live on the fridge, in the audit, on the board and on a profile. The phone can stay boring. Boring is good in safety.
