Hand in ≠ click Share and run
A teacher opens the workbook and in five seconds sees if you finished it. An empty cell, the wrong account, “anyone can edit” — those are needless minus points.
A checklist is go through with your eyes, not magic. Go through it before every hand-in.
You can copy the list into sheet 备注s in cell A10. Or print a PDF of the check and tick with a pencil. What matters is to go through it every time.
Ten check points
- The right account — the circle top right shows your email.
- Workbook name — not “Untitled”. The teacher recognises the task.
- The right sheet — the teacher knows to look at
Grades, not at备注s. - Headings in row 1 —
Subject,Grade. Bold (after Cell kid). - Data from row 2 — no subject in the heading.
- Numbers are numbers — grades on the right, not the text “two”.
- Saved — at the top “Saved to Drive”, not a hanging “Saving…” for an hour.
- Sharing — the teacher is Viewer or Editor, as they said. Not “the whole internet”.
- No #ERROR! — empty cells in formulas (when you have them) you fix first.
- The link works — open the workbook in a private window or send it to a parent to click.
Go through the workbook like a teacher
-
Open
Tables with Martin. You do not have to turn on view only — just imagine you cannot change anything. -
Go through sheet
Gradesfrom the top down. A subject missing? Is a grade in A instead of B? -
Click Share. Is access restricted? Is the teacher there with Viewer?
-
Top left the name. At the bottom the right tab active.
Handing in an old version. You downloaded a PDF yesterday and today you changed grades. The PDF is old. You hand in an online link or a new PDF. The teacher must see the current state.
A mini checklist in the spreadsheet
Into 备注s you can write your own check table:
| Done | Check |
|---|---|
| ☐ | 账户 right |
| ☐ | Workbook name |
| ☐ | Sheet Grades |
| ☐ | Headings |
| ☐ | Sharing OK |
Into column A text, into B YES / NO. It is meta — a spreadsheet checking a spreadsheet.
🏫 Grade average
One sheet, two columns: subject and grade. At the bottom a sum and an average.💰 Pocket money
Rows = days, columns = income / spend / left.📊 Class survey
One question, answers in one column, later a chart.🏆 Mini dashboard
Three numbers at the top and one chart. Numbers as a link, not copied by hand. Now you 💪
Go through all ten points on your workbook. For each one say out loud YES or NO.
- When it is NO, fix it at once (name, sharing, a grade as text…).
- Write into
备注sthe date of the last check:Check 2026-08-20 OK. - 发送 a parent the link — let them open it, if they see sheet
Grades. - Do not skip any point.
Check: You have a habit of going through the list before handing in. The teacher will see a tidy workbook, not chaos.
What to take from this lesson
- Handing in = a check of account, name, sheet, data, sharing.
- Looking at the workbook with a teacher’s eyes finds holes.
- PDF and a link must be current.
- A checklist in 备注s you can keep for the whole course.
- Ten minutes of checking saves embarrassment.
