التحضير finale: the first polite question

One question that can do everything from التحضير

The finale is not a face test. It is one prompt that proves you are not a tourist in the window. A polite question has a year, a subject, what you already know, what you do not want (finished homework, personal data), and a plan for a check. After the answer you open a book. After the book you say where the fact is from. When the model dumps a name that is not in the book, you cross it out. When it asks for a phone, you stop. When it sounds like magic, you remember it stacks words. This lesson sews eleven previous ones. It is not a new spell. It is a ritual you take into Curious. There you will sharpen the question. Here you can ask it honestly at all.

Ema and Adam do the finale at the table. A timer for 15 minutes. Ema writes: “I am in Year 6. Science, the water cycle. I already know the sun heats. I want one comparison to a kettle, not a definition and not a whole task. I do not want my name. If you invent a book, rather say you do not know.” She sends it. She gets an analogy. She opens the textbook. Evaporation sits. The chatbot added “according to a 2018 study from Brno”. Ema did not find it. She crossed it out. In the notebook: the comparison in her own sentence + textbook source page XY. Adam wanted the shortcut “write it for me”. Ema shows him the notebook. The shortcut would not make a finale. The ritual would.

A ritual of five moves

Move 1: the pitch. You are at home with a parent, not in a test. Move 2: the account. You are not the owner, you are a guest. Move 3: the prompt. Year, topic, I know / I want, bans. Move 4: reading with suspicion of a date, a name, a study. Move 5: a source in your hand and a sentence in your own words. Who can do five moves, can do التحضير. Who can only do move 3 is a fast tourist. Curious adds context and a shorter prompt. Little bird a coach role. Detective three sources. All of that stands on today’s ritual. That is why you write it in the notebook as a recipe, not as a composition.

A sample polite question. Rewrite the topic to yours.

“I am in Year 6, geography. We are learning the rivers of Czechia. I already know the Vltava flows into the Elbe. I want one revision question I will answer from a map. I do not want a finished paragraph. I do not want personal data. If you do not know, say you do not know.”

After the answer:

1. Answer that question from an atlas, not from the chat.
2. If the chat added an extra fact, check or cross it out.
3. Write in the notebook: my answer + atlas / textbook.

A bad finale prompt: “Write me a report about rivers.” That is starting Curious backwards — and cheating if you hand it in.

Why this right now

You are in the course Ask with Martin, level التحضير. You work in a chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude) — same game, different brand. No code. A parent or the school creates the account. A child’s email does not belong here.

This is not the المبتكر level. There you build a chatbot on your own website. Here you are a user: a question, a check, a citation.

You will know this lesson by one sentence: A polite question has context, a ban on finished homework and a check in a book. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have got the core. The rest is practice, not magic.

التحضير ends. Without a ritual Curious would be only “write more cleverly”. With a ritual you know why you ask and where you stop. It is a bridge. Cross it with a timer and a notebook, not with a feeling that you already know everything.

Four things you will build in this course

The course has four small projects. You do not have to do them all at once. Today you add only what this lesson can do.

Workshop: the finale ritual with a timer

Fifteen minutes. One prompt. A book. A cross-out. A sentence in the notebook. A parent sees the table. That is a التحضير certificate — not a diploma from the chat.

1. Set a timer for 15 minutes. Open a textbook at a chapter you are doing now. Pick a topic. On paper: year, what you already know, what you want, what you do not want. That is the skeleton of the prompt.

2. Open a chatbot on a parent’s account. Rewrite the skeleton into the box. إرسال it. Do not fix it ten times while the timer runs — one polite try is enough, a second only if the model broke a ban.

3. Read the answer with a pen. Underline names, dates, “studies”. Open a book. Hit / hallucination. Cross out what does not exist.

4. In the notebook write one own sentence about the topic and a source (page). A chatbot does not belong in the source.

5. إغلاق the chat, even if a minute is left. Tell a parent five moves. When you can explain one, you are ready for Curious.

Practice: find a hole in the prompt

Three prompts. Say which ritual move is missing, and fix it in one sentence.

1. “Write it for me from chemistry.” What is missing?

2. “I am in Year 7, Hussites, I want an outline — and here is a photo of a school report.” What is the foul?

3. “Three questions about a map, I do not want finished text.” A check after the answer is missing. How do you add it to the plan, not to the prompt?

Go through three checks. At each one tick in your head: can I see it, or not?

1. You can name five ritual moves.
2. You have in the notebook a finale sentence with a textbook page.
3. You do not end at “AI said it”, you end at a source.

If something is missing, go back to the steps above. This is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so you go on sure, not confused.
