You report to protect, not to entertain a staff room with gossip.
Report is a word children fear: a snitch. Guard cleans it. You report when someone lends accounts, sends a dump to hand in, plays filth, pushes for data, opens a window at a test, threatens. That protects the class. You do not write into a group “X is an idiot, I went to the teacher”. You go to a person politely: what happened, where, with no sauce. A parent hears a home key and fear. A teacher hears a school pitch and a cheat. A headteacher later. A safety helpline when harm is serious — you know from another course. Here practice of a polite sentence. Without practice at night you either stay silent, or shout into chat. Both are wrong.
Bára sees a dump of compositions in chat. Adam: “don’t be a snitch.” Bára goes to the teacher: “In the group finished text from AI is being sent to hand in. I do not want to shout names in front of the class, but it is happening.” The teacher deals with it. Bára is not a star. She is a guard. Adam later gets that silence would have let twenty people fall. Gossip would be “Adam is a cheater” on a story. Bára did not do that. A code: we report to an adult, not to a crowd. A headteacher will value this more than twenty rules. One sentence that comes from the mouth.

Protection, gossip, silence
Protection: a fact, an adult, no show. Gossip: a name + shame in public, even when the fact is true. Silence: fear of a snitch, a class falls. Guard chooses protection. Sometimes a teacher already knows. You may still say. It is not a contest who first. It is information. When you are a victim of pressure for a dump, you report for yourself. When you are a witness, for the line. Both hold. A lie “he did it” when not is over the line worse. Truth. Short. With no tasting of filth. With no passwords in the description.
Two sample sentences (adjust).
“At a test a window was open under the desk. It happened in lesson 3.” “In class chat a finished composition from AI is being sent. Please deal with it yourselves. I do not want to smear it.”
Wrong: A story with names and screenshots of work. Silence, because “everyone”. Reporting a lie out of revenge.
When a parent: a home account, fear, a foreign page, a countdown on a phone. When a teacher: school, a test, a dump in class chat, a projector.
A pillory on a noticeboard with names is not reporting. It is bullying in a code kit. A code does not hang names of victims and offenders.
Why this right now
You are in the course Ask with Martin, level Guard. You work in a chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude) — same game, different brand. No code. A parent or the school creates the account. A child’s email does not belong here.
This is not the المبتكر level. There you build a chatbot on your own website. Here you are a user: a question, a check, a citation.
You will know this lesson by one sentence: To report is two sentences to an adult. It is not a story and it is not silence from fear of a snitch. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have got the core. The rest is practice, not magic.
