Reporting is not snitching
Reporting on a platform = the Report button in a game, a network, chat. You send the platform a signal: here is a scam, harassment, a fake profile. It is not “telling on someone”. It is tidying, so others do not hit the same trap.
The order from التحضير and Hunter lesson 3:
- A parent or a teacher — first. Even if nothing went out.
- Report — once you know what you are reporting. A parent or a teacher can advise.
- 116 111 — when it is hard to talk at home.
You report yourself with a parent knowing, for things you see. Hard things (blackmail, meeting in person) = a parent leads.
Before deleting: a screenshot. Date, account name, text. Then report. Then block. Deleting first = less proof for a teacher.
What you can report
- a fake profile, a fake contest
- a phishing message in a game chat
- insults, cyberbullying (more in Broadcaster)
- a strange adult in a children’s chat
- a scam link, a QR scam in a comment
The platform will not solve everything immediately. Reporting still helps. And you have the calm that you did not send it on.
How to report — in general
- A screenshot for a parent / a teacher.
- A profile or a message → ⋯ or ! → Report.
- Pick a reason (scam, spam, harassment — what fits).
- Do not add extra details about yourself.
- A parent knows that you reported.
On a school account and Drive — a teacher. In a game — report + a parent.
What you do not report on your own
- when it is about meeting in person — a parent, the police through an adult
- when it is about money — a parent
- when you do not know if you clicked a scam — a parent first, then report
What to say to a teacher
“I reported it in the app with a parent’s say-so. Here is a screenshot. I do not want to send it to classmates.”
How it fits the projects
🏫 Campaign. Screenshot → an adult → report.
Family rules. I do not send a scam on — I report with a parent.
Campaign for the class — now you have a method for the poster.
Now you 💪
With a parent, find where Report is in one app you use. You do not have to report anything — just know where the button is.
-
Open the app. Find Report on a profile or a message (a parent’s hint).
-
Practise the order: screenshot → a parent → report.
-
Into the campaign: An adult first, then report.
Check: Report ≠ snitching. The order: an adult, a screenshot, report. Hard things a parent leads.
What to take from this lesson
- Report = tidying for others.
- A screenshot before deleting.
- A parent first with hard things.
- You know where the button is in one app.
