Working with a teacher

A teacher is not an enemy

Adviser takes a poster, class rules or help with bullying to school. That goes with a teacher, not over their head. A teacher knows where things may go, what the class can take, and when to call the headteacher.

What you can take to a teacher:

• a draft of a campaign poster — five points
• a draft of class rules — five sentences (you have them from an earlier lesson)
• a screenshot of cyberbullying — with a classmate
• a question: Can we briefly show five points in ICT?

What you do not do:

• stick a poster without permission
• “teach” the class with a megaphone in the corridor
• investigate on your own who wrote from an anonymous account

How to do a meeting with a teacher

1. التحضيرare one page — a poster or class rules. A draft.

2. Agree a time — after a lesson, an email from a parent, a message in Teams, however it works at yours.

3. Say: What to shorten? Where may it go? May I let one classmate read point 3?

4. After approval: thank them. Hang it as the teacher said. إرسال a parent a photo home, not into class chat as a show.

What to say to a teacher

“I am doing a safety course. I have a draft of five points for a poster. No scare stories. I want your view on what to shorten and where it should hang. It is not for a mark.”

At cyberbullying:

“I have a screenshot. Classmate [name] is getting [briefly]. What should we do at school?”
