Chat outside the table loses context
“Fix B4” in chat — which sheet? A comment in cell B4 on sheet Znamky keeps the talk at the data. A task (Tasks, Sheets) assigns to a teammate: “fill in the missing Tuesday on Kapesne”.
The Workbook boss coordinates people, not just numbers.
A comment at a cell
-
Sheet
Znamky. Click B4 (English). Right-click → Insert comment. Write:Talk with the teacher — a retake date? -
A teammate with the comment right replies in the thread. When تم, Resolve — the comment disappears from the eyes, history stays.
-
ملاحظة vs. comment: a note is a small yellow triangle, without @ and a thread. For yourself:
source: test 12.3. -
Sheet
Kapesne— a comment at C5:Ice cream — scenario B. You connect the model with reality. -
Dashboard: a comment at C3 no — a KPI should not be a discussion. Discussion at the source on Znamky.
A comment at a formula explains why: =KDYŽ(...) — “a rule from mum”. In a year you will understand the logic.
Tasks in Google Sheets
Insert → Task (Checklist / Tasks) or a comment with @name — an assignment. Task: “Check survey SUM = 22”. A deadline. A teammate ticks it off.
Excel: comments yes, tasks more in Teams/To Do — the idea is the same.
What often goes wrong
A comment instead of data. B4 must still hold a grade, not comment text in the cell.
Ten unresolved comments. Before PDF go through and resolve.
A task without a link to the sheet. The description must say sheet + cell.
🏫 Grade average — B4
A comment at a problem grade. Average B8 calculates with B4 — a comment does not affect the number.
💰 Pocket money — C5 ice cream
A comment + scenario B in table J. A parent sees why spending is high.
📊 Class survey — a SUM task
A task for a teammate: check E2:E5 vs. the filter. Sorter workflow.
🏆 Mini dashboard — no comments
Dashboard clean. Comments at source cells.
Now you 💪
First: two comments (Znamky + Kapesne), one resolve.
Second: a task or an @ message to a teammate with a concrete cell.
Check: Comments at data, not at empty cells. Resolved ones closed. Dashboard without threads.
What to take from this lesson
- A comment = a discussion at a cell. A note = for yourself.
- A task = who, what, by when. At the source, not on the dashboard.
- Before handing in resolve open comments.
