KPI = “what matters at a glance”
Key Performance Indicator — in plain words a key number. The teacher does not read seven sheets. They want: grade average, how much you spent this week, what the survey won. Three cells at the top of the Dashboard, big, with a label.
The Workbook boss designs the screen, not new formulas — the Modeller already has those.
Three KPIs on Dashboard
-
Sheet Dashboard (new). A1 a big label
Project — March(or your month). -
B3 label
Grade average, C3=Znamky!B8. Format number 1 decimal. Font bigger (Format → 18 pt). -
B4
Spending week (Kč), C4=SUMA(Kapesne!C2:C8). Format currency. -
B5
Survey winner, C5 text fromPruzkum!D2or by handroll. D5=Pruzkum!E2votes. -
Under the KPIs an empty row. The grades chart comes in the next lesson. Today only numbers live from links.
KPI = a link, not a rewrite. C3 click — in the formula bar =Znamky!B8. When the teacher clicks (view right), they will see the same formula.
A monthly overview
Under the KPIs a table Month | Average on Znamky or Dashboard E:F:
| Month | Average |
|---|---|
| February | 2.0 |
| March | =Znamky!B8 |
One row live, older by hand or from history. A line chart from E:F = a grades trend (Chart maker).
What often goes wrong
KPI hardcoded. C3 = 1.8. A grade change the dashboard does not see.
Too many KPIs. Ten numbers = none important. Max three–four.
Survey winner without votes. C5 + D5 together.
🏫 Grade average — KPI #1
C3 = the only average on the dashboard. Source always Znamky!B8.
💰 Pocket money — KPI #2
SUM of actual spending C, not model H. Dashboard = reality.
📊 Class survey — KPI #3
Winner + vote count. Share optionally in E5 =D5/SUMA(Pruzkum!E2:E5).
🏆 Mini dashboard — تم today
Three KPIs = the core of the mini dashboard from التحضير. You will add the chart right away.
Now you 💪
First: Dashboard with C3:C5 links.
Second: a monthly March row + older February for comparison.
Check: Three KPIs from formulas. Kč and decimal formats. A change at the source = a change on the dashboard.
What to take from this lesson
- KPI = 3–4 key numbers at the top, always a link.
- A dashboard starts with numbers, not a chart.
- A monthly row = a simple trend.
