Three things that cost money — and you know why by them

التحضير ends. Not with a test on paragraphs. With three things from a real week that cost tokens. By each you can say: which wrapper, whether a need or a want, who may pay, and that it is not a game about riches.

When you find three things, you have a dictionary. Cashier will follow it with a record. Without a dictionary you would write fog. With it you write agreements.

Amálie lists: 1) a snack 35 Kč coins, 2) a ticket — mum pays by card, 3) a skin she wanted and did not buy. Vojta lists: a phone, a car, a holiday. Those are things above the line. They belong to adults. The finale is about what you see up close, not about family accounts.

Vojta crosses out the car. He writes: a notebook copy 10 Kč, juice 25 Kč, a game purchase 0 (stop at the password). Three truths. No wage. No rent. The finale smiles. Boring is right.

A dictionary on one page

Go through it in your head: money is an agreement. A wrapper is a coin, a card, a phone. Price is not value. A need is not a want. Pocket money flows from an adult’s work. A receipt is a sentence. A parent holds the lock. You do not build a ranking. A unit belongs with a number. Small change lives. Rent is not your bill.

The finale does not shove these sentences into a test. It shoves them next to three things. When by a snack you can say “want, coin, my pocket money” and by a ticket “a need of the journey, a card, a parent”, you can do التحضير. If by everything you say “that’s just how it is”, go back to the agreement.

The third thing may be not bought. That is a decision. It belongs in the course more than a haul. A purchase that did not happen still teaches value and a lock.

Do not send the page onto the network. Shop names may be there. Pocket-money amounts and accounts may not. A parent may see the page. The class does not need your numbers.

Amálie wants to shorten it to “it will be fine somehow”. Vojta asks what the lesson التحضير finale: 3 things that cost money is for, when a table can do a sum. Vojta wanted to write “we are poor, that is why I have no bike”. He crosses it out. That is guilt and a ranking. He writes: “No bike this year. It is above the line. I have 40 Kč for snacks.” Respect. Truth. No rent bill.

Why this right now

You are in the course Money with Martin, level التحضير. You can write numbers in a notebook or a table, but the topic is money and decisions, not Excel formulas. The account, the card and the PIN belong to a parent. A child’s email does not belong here. Do not put pocket-money numbers on the network.

This is not the Sheets with Martin course. A table may help, but the mark of success is a decision, not SUM.

You will know this lesson by one sentence: Three things from the week, by each a wrapper, a name of the desire and who may pay. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have the core. The rest is practice, not magic.

Cashier starts with numbers in time: income, spending, balance. Without a dictionary the numbers would have no names. With the finale you know what you are writing. And you know what does not belong in the notebook: rent, a PIN, a wage.

Four things you will build from the course

The course has four small projects. You do not have to do them all at once. Today you add only what this lesson can do.

Workshop: one page, three agreements

A notebook. Three bullets. No photo. No email. No account number.

1. Write three things. By each: a price with Kč (or “a parent paid”), a wrapper, need/want, who approved.

2. Mark one thing you did not buy. Add a reason in one sentence.

3. Check: there is no rent, PIN, wage, address. If there is, delete it.

4. Show the page to a parent. Not to the class chat. Say one sentence from the course that stayed with you.

You count when three bullets hold a dictionary and privacy. If the page is a haul, cross it out and start again from a roll. A roll is a decent start.

Practice: a dictionary on a thing

By each thing match التحضير words. Practice numbers.

1. Juice 25 Kč from a machine. Wrapper? A want, or a need, when you have water? Who pays?

2. A ticket on mum’s card. Why does that not belong in “I paid the rent”?

3. A skin 149 Kč, the screen wants a password. What is success: to buy, or to hand over the phone?

4. Why are three dearer things not a better finale than three honest ones?

If something is missing, go back to the steps above. It is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so you go on with certainty, not with a mess.
