The Grand Finale: Launch Day

Go through the final checklist, launch your website for real, and celebrate. You're the boss!

Today is the day

Everything is ready: domain, hosting, HTTPS, automatic deployment, speed, analytics. There’s just one last boss-level discipline left – the launch. Real companies have a launch checklist, and now you’ll have one too.

Launch checklist ✈️

Go through it point by point. Pilots do this before every flight – even after flying a thousand times:

Technical:

  1. ☐ The website runs on its final address (domain or GitHub Pages) and has the HTTPS lock icon.
  2. ☐ Every link goes where it should (click through every single page).
  3. ☐ The website works on phone, tablet, and computer.
  4. ☐ Lighthouse performance score of at least 80 (or your best honest score).
  5. ☐ The last push passed green on GitHub.

Content:

  1. ☐ No “lorem ipsum”, “TODO”, or test text anywhere.
  2. ☐ Contact/feedback works (send yourself a test message).
  3. ☐ Personal data only with consent, no exact addresses.
  4. ☐ Page title and description make sense (that’s what people see in search results).

Operations:

  1. ☐ Analytics is counting.
  2. ☐ Logins (registrar, hosting, GitHub) are stored safely.
  3. ☐ You know what to do if the website goes down (who checks Actions? where’s the backup?).

Launch 🚀

  1. Final commit: git commit -m "Launch! 🚀" and push.
  2. Open your website at its final address and take a screenshot – that’s a photo for the family album.
  3. Share the address: with family, friends, your class, your club. Add a sentence about what the website does.
  4. Watch the analytics – the first visitors are the best feeling in the world.
🏫 School website – launch tip

Ask a teacher if they can send the address to the class group chat or mention it at a parents’ meeting. A school website with the schedule and events will genuinely get used by parents.

🙋 Personal website – launch tip

Put the address in your bio wherever you’re allowed to. And check back on the website in six months – you’ll see how much you’ve grown, and you’ll have plenty to improve.

🌍 Travel journal – launch tip

Send the address to relatives who don’t travel with you – grandparents make the most appreciative audience. After every trip, add a new entry: a website that stays alive.

⚽ Club website – launch tip

Ask the coach to send the address to the parents’ group. Update the match date and weather before every game – parents will get used to checking the website.

The boss’s last lesson

Launch isn’t the end – it’s the beginning. A website is a living thing: content gets old, people send in ideas, robots in Actions keep watch. Once a week, spend 15 minutes on your website: update content, check the analytics, fix a small thing. That’s what turns a website into a product.

You’re done when: all 12 checklist boxes are checked, the website is on its final address, the first visitors have arrived, and the screenshot is saved.

Congratulations, Project Boss! 🎓 You’ve gone through the whole journey: from your first HTML page through JavaScript, React, servers, databases, and AI, all the way to your own website on your own address. That’s something most adults can’t do. Go claim your certificate – this one is the last, and the biggest.
