An outline is an order of ideas. Slides are only boxes for them.
In Storyteller you have one sentence about what this is about. Today you turn it into an order of slides. You write the order on paper first. Only then you open Google Slides.
Imagine a report about bees. When you hit plus at once, fourteen slides appear from textbook chapters. The bell hits you at chapter three. Classmates heard lots of facts and did not know what to remember.
On paper write eight numbered sentences. Each can carry being a title. For example: Without bees there are fewer apples. Then why we talk about it. Then three proofs. Then what to object. Then a close of what to take away. Then a question. Eight is a ceiling for a school report. Not twenty-five chapters from the contents.
When the sentences hold from start to close, only then open slides.new. A parent or the school holds the account. No child’s email. Pretty does not belong at the start as an advert. It belongs with proof. You hit plus as many times as you have lines. Leave the slide body empty. Today you build order, not bullets.
Ema opened Slides and clicked fourteen Hussite slides as they went in the textbook. The bell hit her in chapter two. Adam first wrote eight sentences: what this is about, why now, three proofs, an objection, a close, a question. Only then eight slides with those titles. He made the close. Ema said paper is a waste of time. She wasted time at the board, because she had no order, only a warehouse of chapters. Today you go Adam’s way: the program closed until the lines hold one idea. A report is not a textbook album. It is eight titles you can carry out loud.
Write the outline in sentences that can carry being a title. If a line needs a paragraph, they are two slides, or they belong in the notebook.
Eight sentences on paper, not in a template menu
A practical report pattern: slide 1 one sentence about what this is about, 2 why we talk about it, 3 to 5 three proofs, 6 an objection, 7 a close of what to remember, 8 a question. The pattern is not the only right one. The only rule is that each box has a sentence before it exists as a thumbnail on the left.
A sentence either proves the main idea, or opens, or closes. Otherwise the line off still on paper. A textbook has twelve subchapters. That is not an outline. That is a warehouse. At school you have minutes. Minutes can carry eight anchors.
In Slides only from paper: Slide → New slide as many times as you have lines. Layout Title and body. Paste titles. Leave the body empty. Do not expand to fourteen because “that chapter too”. A chapter is a notebook. You keep the notebook. The class gets a choice.
A template lies that it is 完了. Done is the look. Ideas stand only when you have a list of sentences.
Adam, history: 1 “The Hussites were not only war”, 2 why we hear that word, 3 a wagon fort, 4 a chalice as a sign, 5 myth versus source, 6 an objection of violence, 7 what to take away, 8 a question for today. Eight anchors, one idea.
Ema copied the textbook contents onto fourteen titles. The teacher heard the start of a warehouse and not the main sentence. After the lesson Ema caught up on paper. It was late for a calm choice.
The example is not a duty of Hussites. It is a duty of count and sentences. Your subject, your sentence, the same eight ceiling. You pick three proofs, not all paragraphs from the left. Three you can carry. Twelve you will not read.
Do not copy a classmate’s outline and only change the name. An outline is a choice you have to defend with your mouth. Someone else’s choice is someone else’s work, even if the slides look like yours.

Defence: an outline is an order of proofs you can make saying.
Eight sentences before the plus
Leave the program closed. On paper one sentence about what this is about and eight lines. When they hold, only then boxes with titles from paper.

Take paper. At the top write in one sentence what the report is about. Under that eight numbered lines. Into each a title-sentence, not a one-word topic. Mark which lines are the start, which proofs, which close. If you have twelve, delete until there are eight or fewer clean. Inflating the eight with filler is banned.

Read the eight sentences out loud. Do they hold from start to close? Let a parent repeat from the outline what this is about, still with no slides. If they do not, fix line 1 and line 7. If they do, only then open slides.new under an adult’s account. 名前 the file Report-outline and your name. Skip a cheerful template. Leave a light or dark solid background.

Hit Slide → New slide until the count matches the number of lines. On each Slide → Apply layout → Title and body. In PowerPoint almost the same: Home → Layout. Into the titles paste the sentences from paper, size at least 32, better 40. Leave the body empty. Today you are not building bullets. You are building an order of boxes.

On the left match the thumbnails to the paper. If they do not match, grab a thumbnail and drag. Delete an extra slide via Slide → Delete slide. Turn on Present (F5) with eyes only: read the titles like a film. Does an arc come from it? If there is a hole, go back to paper, not to fancy type. Decoration will not fill a hole.

Save nothing by hand in Slides. Drive watches on its own. Check the name at the top. Put the paper in the bag for the eight-slide project. The workshop ends when paper and thumbnails say the same sentences. Slide bodies may stay empty. Empty is right. Bullets come in later lessons. Order must stand first.
A textbook is not an outline
A book’s contents is a list of chapters. An outline is a choice you can carry in the minutes you really have.

Cross off the paper one line that is only an interesting bit and does not prove the main sentence.

Count the thumbnails. More than eight? Delete, or merge two sentences onto one slide only if it is still one idea.

Say the arc in three words: start, proofs, close. If you cannot, the outline is still a warehouse.
