The whole file: from piles to a finger
The Detective finale is not a new ten-page report. It is a defence of craft. You can do three piles. You can do doors to a date, a number, a name. You can do a ladder of textbook, wiki, teacher. You can do a bin for a fake. You can do a sign on an image. You can do a study alarm. You can do a health and politics line. You can do a two-window experiment. You can do a trail. You can do three seen sources and a finger under the line. Today you say it. You show a card. You show one crossed-out fake. Tomorrow Helper will want a paraphrase. Without Detective you would paraphrase a lie. With Detective you paraphrase only green. That is a bridge. If you have no bin because “everything sat”, try once more an old lecture from chat and look for a hook on purpose. A detective with no bin is often a detective who did not look. Looking is honour. An empty bin after looking is a win. An empty bin with no looking is sleep.
Bára wants the finale “let AI sum it up for me”. Adam: that would be a summary with no file. They go a checklist. Bára shows a bin with Novák 1998. She shows a card of three sources. She says the line. A parent plays headteacher for two minutes. Bára makes it. If she read a paragraph from chat, the finale would fall. The file is in the notebook. The window is closed. That is a picture of Detective: less text from a model, more things on the table. A logo nowhere. A finger on page 41.
Show a bin. A finale with no crossed-out fake is suspect — as if nothing escaped you. Something always escapes. A bin is honour.
A Detective file — what must lie on the table
On the table: a textbook, a source card, a trail, a bin (a slip of a dead citation), a caption if you had an image, a line before/beyond. In the head: infection of a paragraph, agreement is not proof, three chatbots are not three sources. Who has that can do Helper. Who has only pretty paragraphs can do a cheat. The finale is short, so it is not a night marathon. Diagnosis: a bin missing → go back to a fake citation. A line missing → politics health. A finger missing → a footnote. Do not jump. Tell a parent that chat does not lie on the table as a book. It lies as scissors for questions. Scissors are not a source. A source has a page. You can carry this sentence into Helper and to a teacher. Without it you will shorten water from the window and think you are shortening work.

Tick the checklist. If the table is missing, it is not a finale. A bad finale: a generated summary of the level handed in as your words.
Do not let a model write a defence and read it from paper like an actor. That is an author again. Points yes. Sentences you.
Why this right now
You are in the course Ask with Martin, level Detective. You work in a chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude) — same game, different brand. No code. A parent or the school creates the account. A child’s email does not belong here.

You will know this lesson by one sentence: A detective shows a table: sources, a bin, a finger. A chatbot does not lie on the table as a source. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have got the core. The rest is practice, not magic.
Helper will shorten and expand. Without a file you will shorten a lie and expand carnival. Today a table. Then you may be a helper of work, not a helper of a cheat.

- A bin is not empty because you did not look.
