Three seen things. One speech of yours.
The Detective project is a short report or a spoken defence of five points, where each strong fact stands on a source you opened. Three sources typically: a textbook, an atlas or a reader, one website or wiki link you really open and check. A chatbot is not a fourth. It helped with questions and order. A trail says that. The text is yours from notes. Citations seen. No study with no study. No image as a photo. No politics beyond the line. A narrow topic. Better the Vltava and three truths than Châu Âu and thirty lies. Today you stack everything from Curious to a fake citation. It is slow. It should be slow.
Ema wants four websites and chat. Adam takes scissors: textbook p. 41, atlas p. 12, one link from the wiki cellar they opened and it sits on dams. Chat helped sort five points from notes. Fake Novák 1998 in the bin. Ema speaks three minutes. She shows a book. That is a project. A neighbour’s file has five citations, three dead, an encyclopaedia tone. The teacher asks for a page. The neighbour does not know. Ema knows. Detective won on a short truth. Not on length.
Three sources on paper before you write sentences. Do not start sentences with no source. Otherwise water again.
See three. Say five. Chat as a setter, not an author.
An order of work: questions, notes, three sources on the table, an outline, only then sentences. Chat in between: sort my points, three questions, an analogy marked A. Not: write a report and add citations. Added citations die in the bin and take your time. Three sources must be able to do different things: a book a definition, an atlas a place, a web/wiki link a detail that is not in the book — but then you still check it. Two chatbots do not count. Two tabs of the same article do not count. Three doors of a different kind yes.

Source 1: a textbook, a page, a fact. Source 2: an atlas / a reader / notes, what you see there. Source 3: an opened website, a title, the date opened, what sits there. Outline: 5 points, by each a source number. Prompt trail: it helped sort, it did not write paragraphs. Fair copy: your sentences.

Do not let the model “add a third source” when you only have two. An add-on is theatre. Say you have two, or look for a third with your eyes.
Why this right now
You are in the course Ask with Martin, level Detective. You work in a chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude) — same game, different brand. No code. A parent or the school creates the account. A child’s email does not belong here.
This is not the Nhà phát minh level. There you build a chatbot on your own website. Here you are a user: a question, a check, a citation.
You will know this lesson by one sentence: Three seen sources, five of your points. A chatbot is not in the list. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have got the core. The rest is practice, not magic.
Tomorrow a footnote honestly — a format for those three. The day after a finale. Today the meat of the project. Without meat a footnote is an empty bracket.
