A found phone / Find My

You lost the phone. You know what to press before panic.

Losing a phone is not the end

Find My (iPhone) or Find My Device (Android) shows the phone on a map when it is on and online. It can play a sound, lock or erase remotely — with a parent.

First learn it, not only when the phone lies on a bus. A parent has access to the family account — go through it together once in calm.

💡

Find My has to be on before, not after a loss. Settings → [name] → Find My → Find My iPhone. Android: Settings → Google → Security → Find My Device.

What to do when the phone is not with you

  1. Do not call panic. Try calling your number. Do you hear a ring in the room?

  2. With a parent: icloud.com/find or google.com/android/find — sign in with a parent account, if the phone belongs under family.

  3. Play Sound — so it beeps on the bus. Lock — when it is gone. Erase — the last step, when a parent says (the phone stolen, data out).

  4. Into the stolen phone plan (the next lesson): Find My on — yes. We know where to click — yes.

You do not hunt a thief on your own. The map is for a parent and the police, not for an adventure at night.

What to say at home

To a parent:

“Can we go through Find My once? So we know where to click if I lose it at school.”

Into family rules: I lose the phone → a parent immediately. Find My not a hunt on a map on my own.

⚠️

Find My on a friend “so I know where they are” without their knowing — that is not safety. It is tracking. This is your phone and your loss plan.

Now you 💪

With a parent, check that Find My / Find My Device is on.

Open the find website once — without erasing. You know where the Play Sound button is. Write it into the audit.

Check: Find My on. You know where to play a sound. A loss plan starts with a parent.
