A class group is not a room
Public = anyone who has access will see it. A public profile on a network. A post without privacy. A photo in a class chat a teacher cannot see.
Private = only people you let in. A private account. Chat only with friends. A message to one person.
Half-private = a class group, a party in a game, a family chat. It is not public for the whole internet. It is not private between you and one friend. It is ten to thirty people who can screenshot.
The rule: what you write into a class group can be with the headteacher tomorrow. What you write to a friend in a private message can leak the same — a screenshot exists. But a group is a bigger megaphone.
The test: Would I read this out loud at the board? To a teacher? To grandma? If not, I do not send — not into a “private” class group, not into a party with twenty stranger nicks.
Where it gets mixed up
- A class group — it is not a private room. A teacher, a classmate’s parents, a screenshot — everything can leak.
- A party in a game — stranger nicks. Not “just for a while”. A megaphone.
- Stories — often more people see them than you think. Check settings.
- A private message — someone can still take a screenshot. It is not a vault.

Open three places you use: class chat, a game, a social network. For each write: public / private / half-private.

On one half-private place check who is there. Strangers? Without a teacher? Tell a parent or a teacher.

Into the safer profile write: I know the difference public vs. a class group — yes.
What to say at home
To a parent:
“In the course we dealt with what is public and what is not. A class group is not a private room. I want that in my head before I send something.”
To a classmate:
“This does not belong in the class chat. We will send it just to us two, or not at all.”
“Private” on a network does not mean “nobody will see it”. A screenshot, forwarding and a leak from a group exist. That is why the test at the board and the board rule for photos.

One sentence you would not send into a class chat, try to rephrase for a private message to one friend — or do not send it at all. The decision is practice.
