A QR payment: check the name

QR is a payment address. Before a beep the recipient’s name. A stranger’s QR at a till is stop.

QR is not magic. It is a name on an account.

A QR code at a till tells a phone where to send tokens. A scam can stick another code. Shopper reads a unit. Banker reads the recipient’s name on the display before a confirm. If it does not match the shop, do not confirm. A parent.

Vojta hurries, beeps. Amálie reads the name: “Jan Novák”, not the shop name. Stop. A cashier calls a manager. A sticker over the original QR. A trip till saved. Haste was pressure.

💡

A parent shows where on the display the name is. You read it out loud. It does not match → no. A parent enters a password/PIN after a check, not before.

A sticker and haste

QR from a chat “pay the trip here” is worse than a sticker. It is not a till. It is a transfer to an unknown person. Trường payments go a teacher’s way.

The amount too. 80 vs 800. An extra zero. Read.

Printing your own QR for a stall a teacher may. You do not generate QR from a random app onto an account you may not have.

Sceptic: QR on a pole “you won”. You do not pay. Not even “verification”.

Amálie wants to shorten it to “it will be fine somehow”. Vojta asks what the lesson A QR payment: check the name is for, when a table can do a sum. A sum does not count respect, a PIN, a trap or an envelope. The core is: Before QR read a name and an amount. A sticker and a chat lie.

Adults pay the rent. The card, the account and the PIN belong to a parent. A child’s email does not belong here. Pocket-money numbers do not belong on the network. If you break these rules in the lesson “A QR payment: check the name”, you know a word, not the course.

The display: 79 Kč, recipient Shop XY. It matches. A parent PIN. The display: 79, Jan Novák. It does not match. No.

A chat: QR for a trip till. Amálie: a teacher has an envelope/sheet. QR from a chat no.

Practice numbers, not a bank statement. Amálie has 80 Kč in the want envelope. Vojta pushes a step this lesson can name. When Amálie uses the core, either it waits for a parent, or it fits the envelope. If not, anger and a hole are left — proof of pressure, not that the lesson is pointless.

⚠️

Do not scan QR from an email “verify a card”. It is not a payment for goods. It is a trap for an account.

Why this right now

You are in the course Money with Martin, level Banker. You can write numbers in a notebook or a table, but the topic is money and decisions, not Excel formulas. The account, the card and the PIN belong to a parent. A child’s email does not belong here. Do not put pocket-money numbers on the network.

This is not the Sheets with Martin course. A table may help, but the mark of success is a decision, not SUM.

You will know this lesson by one sentence: Before QR read a name and an amount. A sticker and a chat lie. When you can say it to a parent or a teacher, you have the core. The rest is practice, not magic.

A cash-out fee is boring. QR is fast and therefore dangerous. Eyes first. Then fees.

If you skip this, the next lesson in level Banker will stand on fog. You know where the name is. The sentence it does not match = no lives. A stranger’s QR not scanned. It is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so “A QR payment: check the name” is not only a heading.

Four things you will build from the course

The course has four small projects. You do not have to do them all at once. Today you add only what this lesson can do.

🪙 Pocket money

A 14-day record: income, spending, balance. What you do not write down is as if you did not spend it — and that is a lie.

Pocket money: even 25 Kč QR read. Small codes lie too.

🚌 Class trip

A budget, a reserve, a plan B. A shared till has rules.

A trip: only QR a teacher shows, plus a name.

🎮 Game shop

V-bucks and a loot box are a purchase. A subscription keeps going.

A game: QR for a gem from a forum no.

🧾 Stall / mini-company

Cost, price, profit. Three numbers for the class.

A stall: QR only with a teacher, a school/parent account name.

Workshop: where is the name

With a parent a preview (with no payment). A finger on the recipient’s name. No scan of stranger codes outside as practice.

  1. Where on the display a name and an amount.

  2. A sentence: it does not match = no.

  3. QR from a chat onto the no list.

  4. Do not sticker stranger tills for practice.

You count with a finger on a name. Scanning random QR “for practice” is bad practice. Practise on a parent’s screen.

Pocket money: Pocket money: even 25 Kč QR read. Small codes lie too. Do not write someone else’s amount, a PIN, an IBAN or “how much a classmate gets” next to it. A rule and a practice number are enough — or an honest zero.

Class trip: A trip: only QR a teacher shows, plus a name. Do not write someone else’s amount, a PIN, an IBAN or “how much a classmate gets” next to it. A rule and a practice number are enough — or an honest zero.

Game shop: A game: QR for a gem from a forum no. Do not write someone else’s amount, a PIN, an IBAN or “how much a classmate gets” next to it. A rule and a practice number are enough — or an honest zero.

Stall: A stall: QR only with a teacher, a school/parent account name. Do not write someone else’s amount, a PIN, an IBAN or “how much a classmate gets” next to it. A rule and a practice number are enough — or an honest zero.

What to tell a parent with no wage and no account number: “Today I went through a QR payment: check the name — Before QR read a name and an amount. A sticker and a chat lie.” If they have no time, a slip in the notebook is enough. Stories and class chat are not enough.

I read a name before a parent’s PIN. If you cannot see this, let the next lesson wait. It is not shame. It is a hole in the chapter, not in you.

QR from a chat is not a till. If you cannot see this, let the next lesson wait. It is not shame. It is a hole in the chapter, not in you.

Practice is not scanning a street. If you cannot see this, let the next lesson wait. It is not shame. It is a hole in the chapter, not in you.

Practice: beep, or read?

What first?

  1. The name Jan Novák at a chain. What?

  2. QR from a chat for a trip. What?

  3. 79 vs 790. What?

  4. QR from a pole a win. What?

Now you 💪

Go through three checks. By each one, tick in your head: do I see it, or not?

  1. I read a name before a parent’s PIN.
  2. QR from a chat is not a till.
  3. Practice is not scanning a street.

If something is missing, go back to the steps above. It is not a test for marks. It is a safety net, so you go on with certainty, not with a mess.

Check: You know where the name is. The sentence it does not match = no lives. A stranger’s QR not scanned.
